Honeycrisp in Massachusetts
In general, follow recommendations for New York-grown apples. Soft scald can be a problem in fruit stored at less than 36 °F (2 °C), but can be reduced with delayed cooling treatment prior to long-term storage. Bitter pit, decay incidence, firmness, and soluble solids content are not affected by harvest date or by delayed cooling (Watkins et al., 2004).
